Consultation on the Vale Draft Local Plan 2031

New: The Local Plan 2031 Part 2: Detailed Policies and Additional Sites – Publication Version Publicity Period

Your final chance to comment – consultation open until Wednesday 22 November 2017

Following the Preferred Options consultation in March 2017 and the gathering of evidence, the Vale District Council are nearly ready to submit their Local Plan 2031 Part 2 for independent examination. They have opened a six week publicity period between Wednesday 11 October and Wednesday 22 November 2017. Read more here.

The Vale District Council is undertaking two public consultations; a Developer Contributions Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) and a Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Draft Charging Schedule. See letter from the Vale here, and below for further details on these consultations.

Vale of White Horse draft Local Plan Part 2 Consultation

Residents of the Vale of White Horse District are invited to comment on Vale of White Horse Local Plan Part Two.

Part two of the plan includes the detailed policies the council will use when making day to day decisions on planning applications.

It will also explain how it proposes to accommodate 2,200 homes for Oxford that they have agreed to plan for within the Vale. There are no additional housing sites allocated for Cumnor or Botley in the plan.

Residents can read the draft version of the Local Plan 2031 Part Two and find out how to make comments at www.whitehorsedc.gov.uk/LPP2. Paper copies are available at libraries and council offices. The consultation is open for comments until 5pm on 4 May.

Local Plan 2031 Part 1- Now been adopted

Local Plan Inspector has now issued his report, and the modified local plan is now ‘sound’. A report recommending adoption of the Plan was considered at Full Council on 14 December 2016.

Draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) – public consultation

The Vale also want to know what you think of their draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).  This sets out how they will engage with communities and the ways people can comment on planning applications.

Once it’s adopted they will have a duty to comply with the new SCI in preparing any plan making document, or determining a planning application.  The updated SCI will replace the current version that  was published in 2009

How to view the consultation documents

All documents (including response forms) can be viewed and downloaded electronically on the Vale website at www.whitehorsedc.gov.uk/localplan

They are also available for inspection at the Vale office 135 Eastern Avenue, Milton Park, Milton, OX14 4SB (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm), and at public libraries in Abingdon-on-Thames, Wantage, Faringdon, Grove, Botley, Kennington, and Didcot.

Once you’ve viewed the documents you can comment on either consultation:

Both consultations run from Wednesday 20 July until 5pm on Wednesday 14 September.  Any submissions received after this deadline may not be considered.

‘Local Plan – Examination in Public – Stage 2
The first part of the Examination in Public of the Vale’s Local Plan concluded at the end of September. In a short letter thanking the participants, the Inspector has announced that he is now ready to move on to the second part of the Examination. This will look in detail at individual sites. No date has yet been set for it, there will be more news on the Vale’s website as soon as a date has been given, although it is expected to be in the New Year.’
