A community employment plan is a planning condition of the West Way redevelopment. A representative of Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) spoke about this briefly at Mace’s Community Liaison Group meeting on April 10th 2017. These plans focus on apprenticeships, work experience, and getting people back into work. Their focus is both during construction and after when the centre is up and running. Watch this page for more information as we receive it.
But what about help for those currently employed in the centre who may be facing redundancy? The LEP rep mentioned the new Westgate development. All of the jobs available at the Westgate are being routed through the website, as there are multiple employers involved in the recruitment. The website for jobs is: https://westgateoxford.co.uk/jobs/careers-westgate-oxford
The Job Centre are working closely with the Westgate team and other partners locally to ensure opportunities are utilised for those currently unemployed locally. The best contact at the Job Centre is: Catherine Southam and her details are: CATHERINE.SOUTHAM@DWP.GSI.GOV.UK or 01865 44503. Catherine at the Job Centre will be able to support with Westgate roles if that is of specific interest to any of those facing redundancy in Botley.
In addition, we will post details of any other local businesses that have contacted us about recruitment opportunities here:
